Do you know how to Ground yourself?
I know i keep harping on about grounding and getting out in nature, because from an energy perspective, I believe it is important. But then I realized that some people may not have time or opportunity to do so, and may not understand how to ground themselves from an energetic point of view. So instead of just telling you to ground yourself, I would like to show you how to go over some basic steps of grounding yourself with energy. The concept is not hard and can be done in different ways.
Do I need Grounding?
If you feel like you have too much energy running through you from doing a lot of healing work or other energy work, or even just spending too much time in your head, you might develop some symptoms that tell you that you need earthing out such as:
• Dizziness
• Lightheaded
• Disconnected
• Mentally Tired
• Sense of floating
• Shaky
Grounding and Clearing
When we do this exercise, we also do an energy cleanse at the same time. It can only take as little as 30 seconds or for as long as you want. Once you understand the simple steps involved you can adjust it to however you like and for as long as you like.
The more we clear ourselves of negative energy, the more we can live in a state of positive energy.
Exercise 1
One way is to just stand barefoot in the backyard and visualize negative energy flowing out of your feet into the ground. One of my favourite ways to do this, is to visualise myself as a tree with the Reikil energy or white light flowing into me in the shape of tree branches, and the negative energy flowing out of me deep into the ground like the roots of the tree. You can picture this negative energy as a dark smoke if you like. The peace and calm that flows over you is amazing and the funny thing is… you start to sway like a tree in the wind. When we bring this energy into the top of our head, we need to have clear intent, such as “this white light is cleansing me, balancing my energy and reconnecting me to the earth”.
If time is the issue then you can do this visualization while in the shower. Water is very grounding as well, and if you visualize the water coming over your head as white light and the negative energy flowing down the drain and deep into the earth for the grounding.
Exercise 2
Another way to help ground yourself is to use crystals suitable to grounding, such as Hematite, Red Jasper and Black Tourmaline. Each crystal has different properties, and there is many more that are suitable for grounding, so find one that suits you. I personally like to use Black Tourmaline as a necklace, which also helps to protect from negative energy and to help strengthen the aura. You can just carry the crystal around with you through the day or wear it on a necklace, but combining it with the visualization will be even more beneficial.
Why we need to Ground ourselves
Earthing out (Grounding) is not only good for releasing negative energy, but also helps to bridge your spiritual self with your physical self. Sometimes when we are feeling disconnected with ourselves we may just need grounding. It is very easy for people who are just starting out on a spiritual path, to be stuck in the ethereal part of the body and mind, forgetting the importance of the physical body’s needs. Earthing yourself out will bring balance back to your mind, body and soul.
Visualising the earthing out process and reconnecting with your body and the earth, is also a good focus point for people starting out in their meditations. Personally, all of my meditation, classes and healing sessions start and finish with grounding. When you practice it regularly then it will just become automatic.
